Mubea eCargo · Bike Safety Guides
Start with a bike you can trust.
Complete the inspection for your assigned bike before loading or setting off. Always wear your hi-vis on the road.
Walk around before loading
- Look for tyre damage, loose parts, leaks and anything caught around the wheels.
- Complete the brake, steering and parking checks listed in ClearQuote.
- Check lights, reflectors, indicators and mirrors. Make sure your view is clear.
- Ensure the batteries are charged before leaving, the display is normal and each battery is locked securely in its slot. See battery fitting and security.
- Check cargo doors and latches close securely.
Set yourself up
Adjust the seat and mirrors before moving. Wear your correctly fitted cycle helmet and hi-vis and any other fleet-required protective equipment. Secure clothing and loose straps. Set navigation while parked.
Turn on and unlock the bike
- With the bike stationary, hold the power button to turn it on.
- Enter the PIN provided by your manager. Use + and − to change the digit, the power button to move left and the light button to move right.
- When the code is entered, press i to unlock the bike.
Keep the PIN private. Ask your manager if you have not been issued a code.
Open the e-bike quick guide for PIN buttons, hold-to-move assistance, fobs, daily battery locking and safe slowing.
Know the controls
- GO / PARK: use the power button to engage GO; press it again to engage PARK. Check the displayed mode before moving or leaving the seat.
- Hazard lights: the control is on the left of the handlebars. Always engage the hazards inside the warehouse or unit. Keep them on when reversing; see the reversing steps.
- Wipers: press the button below the hazard control to operate the wiper. Hold it for five seconds to engage automatic wipers.
- Indicators: use them when turning to alert other road users.
Test before joining traffic
In an approved clear area, check that you can start, steer and stop normally. Check the controls above while stationary, and ask your manager to demonstrate anything you are unsure about.
Notify management immediately if you notice damage. Never take a bike out if you are unsure about damage or have any safety concern. Keep it parked and raise the issue with your manager so they can assess it. Do not attempt an unapproved repair.
