ย DCR, orย Delivery Completion Rate, represents the percentage of packages that are successfully delivered to customers out of the total assigned to you.
How is DCR Calculated?
If you take out 1000 packages in a week and successfully deliver 970, your DCR will be 97%.
Target DCR
To maintain strong performance, you should aim to deliver at leastย 99.20%ย of your assigned packages each week.
Balancing Performance Metrics
DCR and DSC DPMO together account for 50%ย of your overall performance score (25% each). To succeed in both areas:
- Attempt direct contact with the customer when delivery isn’t straightforward
- Leave a text message when no one is available
- Always follow the customer’s designated safe-place preferences
What Impacts DCR?
DCR is only impacted when a delivery cannot be completed and is marked under certain statuses, such as:
- Customer not available (no safe place approved)
- Business closed
- Address inaccessible or incorrect
Reattempting Deliveries
When you are unable to complete a delivery earlier in your route, it is good practice to revisit the address at the end of your shift to check if the customer is now available.
This quick reattempt often takes less time than returning to the depot or passing the parcel to a debrief driver. It reduces the number of returns and increases your DCR โ making it a highly efficient way to improve your performance score and finish earlier.
