How to use Amazon Flex

A practical guide for your assigned Spotted Bee route—from signing in to finishing the day.

1. Get ready before your route

  • Charge your issued phone and check mobile data, GPS and the camera. Use the current Amazon Flex app from the official app store.
  • Sign in to your own authorised work account. Never share passwords or login codes. If the account or route is wrong, ask your Site Manager.
  • Allow the permissions the app needs. Check in, collect and scan parcels as the current app and your trainer direct. Resolve missing or extra parcels before leaving.

2. Open the stop and check the details

  • Stop and park safely before using the phone. Confirm the address, parcel label and the individual delivery instructions.
  • Check every parcel in a grouped stop. A mail room, concierge and front door can have different instructions.
  • Use the app’s customer-contact or arrival-notification option when available and appropriate. Menu names can differ; do not send an arrival message after completing a delivery.

3. Follow the delivery options shown

Follow the current app and the customer’s instructions for that parcel. Attempt an attended handover when required. Only use a safe place or alternative recipient when permitted. If the options or instructions conflict, contact your Site Manager or Driver Support.

Do not use a blanket “always leave it” or “never knock” rule. Never leave a parcel somewhere unsafe just to finish a stop.

4. AVD and OTP: check before you hand over

Age-verified delivery

Complete all age checks requested in the app and verify the recipient is 18+. Ask for valid photo ID when required, including if they look under 25. Never photograph or scan customer ID. Never leave an AVD unattended or with a neighbour.

One-time passcode

Ask for the delivery passcode with the recipient present. Enter it only at the delivery and wait for acceptance before handing over. Do not obtain it by phone or in advance. No valid code means no handover—contact support.

5. Complete the delivery accurately

  • Select the outcome and location that match what you actually did.
  • If a delivery photo is requested, show the parcel and where it was left clearly. Avoid people and unnecessary personal details.
  • Check the app has saved the delivery before moving on. Never mark an undelivered parcel as delivered or guess a missing verification detail.

6. When a delivery or collection cannot be completed

Use the available contact and help options, tell your Site Manager, and record the truthful reason in the app. Follow the instructions for reattempts, collections and returns. Do not skip a collection or invent a distance rule; follow the current app and site procedure.

7. Finish the route and return to site

Check outstanding stops, collections and undelivered parcels with your Site Manager. Return parcels using the required site process. Follow the app’s end-of-route steps.

Return the bike to site, hold the power button until fully off, unlock and remove the batteries and put them on charge. Put issued devices on charge and return keys to the locker.

What to send us when something goes wrong

  • Your name, site / route reference and the time it happened.
  • The exact error and what you were trying to do.
  • Device model, app version and steps already tried.
  • A useful screenshot with unnecessary customer details hidden. Share parcel / stop references only through approved work channels.
  • Never send passwords, login codes, delivery OTPs or customer ID photos.
